Location - super, very close to a retail park with other restaurants and shops to stock the fridge up with the essentials, motorway network, and the restaurant for dinner...
Wi-Fi was very poor.

The location was peaceful - a short walk to everywhere we wanted to go. We found there lots of restaurants to eat, like Pizza Hut that is only 10 minutes' walk away. Had spotless double room with decent comfy bed and wake-up service was available in it.

A multi-channel television, a seating area and ironing facilities in the room and the lovely bed. Excellent facilities there.
Breakfast very poor.

Staff very good hotel very nice
Staff went out of their way to help
Bedroom that we occupied had a raised seating area and I had left my phone on a dressing table Phone went of and I went to answer it and fell of the raised section and fell down hitting dressing table no real damage to myself or table Would suggest that the edge of the raised section should be highlighted as it is in a dark wood at this time

easy access to parks and attractions for leisurely city strolls
The bed in my room was comfortable, especially with such wonderful places like wicksteed park just about 3 km away, and it was lovely having alfresco dining nearby at the restaurant with great service. It would be nice if room lighting was brighter, but overall, the stay was good.

One complaint...the fridge in our room 312 did not work, so milk had gone off

Base from which to attend the festival of history. Excellent facilities. Comfortable rooms. Would stay here again
The food in the restaurant was overpriced for the quality. We travel a lot and so can speak from experience. When we told the waiter that the food was not nice, he did nothing. We also mentioned the quality of the restaurant food at checkout and again, nothing. We would definitely stay here again but will be eating elsewhere.

I had a lovely stay, enjoying the clean rooms and tasty food while easily accessing very nice attractions like Wicksteed Park, perfect for a pleasant stroll, and the Alfred East Art Gallery, where I admired some excellent local artwork.

We quite like the fact the hotel had high standards without being too formal and despite it being a special birthday treat and we are only used to staying in travel lodge type of hotels and B&B's we did not feel at all uncomfortable. Rooms were comfortable, clean and well equipped and the staff were extremely helpful.
Did not like the fact that there did not appear to be any way through from the bar to the restuarant to the lovely garden at the rear so lots of people were walking through the restaurant while we were dining to get there. Restaurant prices a bit high but food was quite good.
